Sisters Moving Mountains
On Saturday April 9, 1994, Overseer Shelia Marie along with her mother Elder Queen Person hosted a women’s prayer breakfast at the Garner Road YMCA in Raleigh North Carolina. This event took place the second Saturday before Easter. There were over sixty women at the women’s fellowship that morning, which was intended to be a one-time event, however, God had a different plan. The Lord impressed upon Overseer Shelia Marie’s heart to have the women’s prayer breakfast monthly which she named God’s Women’s of Fellowship that was later changed to God’s Women of Destiny which was a result of the ministry being destined for greatness. The ministry was called God’s Women of Destiny for over 15 years.
In March of 2014, God directed Overseer Shelia Marie to go in another direction for the ministry that He birthed in her, which is now Sisters Moving Mountains (SMM). Sisters Moving Mountains meets monthly in various locations for fellowship and spiritual impartation some being held at God’s House Worship Center, Garner NC and other locations as directed by the Holy Spirit.
Sisters Moving Mountains is a ministry for hurt and abused women yet will welcome anyone that would like to fellowship with the ministry. For over thirty years Overseer Shelia Marie has been ministering to women that have been hurt and have faced many challenges in their lives. Overseer Shelia Marie knows from experience how it feels to be hurt, abused, and abandoned as well as to have struggles and disappointments in life.
Overseer Shelia Marie can relate to women who feel as if life has passed them by. Overseer Shelia Marie is a loving, caring and compassionate person who seeks God’s will for her life as well as in the lives of other’s. She has learned from her own private struggles to have compassion and love for women and anyone that may need a shoulder to lean own.
Sisters Moving Mountains has two annual events each year. In April of each year the ministry gathers to celebrate its anniversary and in November SMM hosts their Annual Women’s Conference with various speakers and fellowship with women from different congregations. Lunch is served at the annual Women’s Conference. In July 2017, SMM hosted 1st women’s conference in SC, June 2019, Richmond, VA, and 2022 MD. SMM hosts multiple conferences throughout the year with one being out of state.
(SMM) is under the leadership of Apostle Sharon Bryant-Sanders, The Faith Center, Wilson Mills, NC. Shelia Marie is grateful for her mother Elder Queen Person who is standing with her helping to push the vision that God has birthed in her. Overseer Shelia Marie is grateful for the many women who offers support and who have placed their trust in her through the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
